How we make money
Statutia is free to use. We plan to earn money through affiliate commissions: when you buy from a provider through one of our links, that provider may pay us, at no extra cost to you.
Where things stand
We currently have no affiliate relationships. Every provider link on this site is a plain link that earns us nothing.
We plan to apply to these programs:
- Northwest Registered Agent, ZenBusiness, Bizee, Registered Agents Inc and Harbor Compliance (through the Awin network), and LegalZoom (its own program).
What each program says it pays, so you can see our incentives. These are advertised rates, not agreements: we have no approvals, and the real terms are set at approval.
| Program | What it advertises (read on its own page, Oct 11, 2026) | Our status |
|---|---|---|
| Northwest Registered Agent | $100 per registered agent signup; $150 per business formation (its page description says “$60 net”, a conflict we’ll settle at approval) program page ↗ (opens in a new tab) | Not applied |
| ZenBusiness | $75 / $125 / $175 per new-business formation (Starter / Pro / Premium). Its terms pay when the customer forms a new business, so we expect agent-only purchases, including switching your agent, to earn nothing program page ↗ (opens in a new tab) | Not applied |
| Harbor Compliance | 50% of each registered agent sale program page ↗ (opens in a new tab) | Not applied |
| Registered Agents Inc | $150 per agent signup and $200 per formation on one page; $325 and $500 on its guidelines page (a conflict we’ll settle at approval) program page ↗ (opens in a new tab) | Not applied |
| Bizee | No rate on its own site; content that mentions Bizee needs its approval before publishing program page ↗ (opens in a new tab) | Not applied |
| LegalZoom | 15% of a completed sale, excluding government fees program page ↗ (opens in a new tab) | Not applied |
Some programs pay nothing for some purchases. ZenBusiness’s terms pay when a customer forms a new business, so links to its agent service, including on our switching pages, will always be plain links. That changes how a link is labeled, never which provider we recommend.
How commercial links are labeled
- Every commercial link says so right next to it, with what we may earn — not only in a footer.
- Commercial links carry
rel="sponsored"so search engines know they’re paid. - Links that earn us nothing say “Plain link · we earn $0”.
Why commissions don’t change recommendations
Recommendations come from verified costs and the need you choose. The recommendation code never reads affiliate data, and an automated test fails if a payout changes any result. When filing yourself, staying with your current agent, or being your own agent is cheaper, that is what we say — even though it earns us nothing. If a provider that pays us is not the best fit, we still recommend the one that is.
